Continued Help Between Meetings
Many students need additional assistance throughout the week with essays, research projects, and various class assignments. Sometimes they just need an academic question answered.
In between our regular tutoring sessions, I offer my students ongoing help. Students can email me, text me, and share assignments with me anytime throughout the week. I will quickly provide students with help and feedback on homework assignments, editing and proofreading on writing assignments, and answers to any questions. There is no additional fee for this additional assistance.
Google Docs
Along with our weekly face-to-face tutoring sessions, students and I often work together remotely using Google Docs, a very powerful real-time collaboration and document authoring tool. Students can produce and share text documents, slide presentations, spreadsheets, drawings, and surveys. The formats used are compatible with Microsoft Office and Open Office, so student and teacher can switch between these programs as needed.
The student and I can simultaneously edit a document and instantaneously see each others' changes. Google Docs allows students produce and share assignments and receive immediate feedback from me. Most students are already proficient with it since it is a core component in most schools and part of Google Classroom.
Google Docs allows us to work together on writing assignments during our face-to-face tutoring sessions and also remotely throughout the week. Unlike Microsoft Office Suite, the other major benefit of Google Docs is that the program is completely free.
Reports and Conferences
I frequently provide written follow-up reports to parents. I am always available by text, email, or telephone to discuss any questions or concerns. I never charge a fee for reports or conferences, no matter how many times we need to communicate.
Books and Learning Materials
I have a large library of study materials for all grade levels, and I supply the student with all necessary textbooks, workbooks, and other learning materials. Students never have to purchase any additional texts or workbooks.
