Keys to Academic Success
I help students unlock their potential, succeed in their academic studies, and plan for the future.
Compassion and Caring
I enjoy helping people and believe that compassion and caring are essential to successful instruction.
Personalized Instruction
I only work with students on a one-to-one basis and customize all lessons and learning materials based on each student's unique and individual needs. I identify areas of weakness and diagnose each student’s level of mastery for key skills.
In order to provide the greatest amount of attention to each of my students, I keep a small client base and establish a personal rapport. I work with students not only to educate but also to build a sense of self worth.
English as a Second Language
As the primary spoken language in a country with a rich history of immigration and cultural diversity, I am keenly aware that English and its mastery are an important part of educational development. ESL is often not part of the standard public school curriculum but is essential to all of us living in the United States. My family emigrated from Italy. As an English as a Second Language instructor, I firmly believe in our shared values as Americans, but also the importance of our unique diversity.
Balancing Tradition with Technology
I never rely on only one teaching method: I employ a combination of traditional teaching materials--workbooks, textbooks, and handouts--with up-to-date technologies such as streaming videos, interactive online teaching tools, and learning activities. My philosophy is one size never fits all.
