Tutoring Locations
While I still meet a few students in person at the library study rooms or, for older students, at my home, since COVID I have transitioned away from in-person meetings to online tutoring because it gives both the student and me greater flexibility.
Benefits of Online Tutoring
The experiences with the Zoom classroom during COVID left many with a negative attitude about online education. However, I only work one on one with each student, so the learning experience is no different than if we meet in person.
Most of my students and parents have come to prefer the convenience of online tutoring. I am also better able to schedule students and offer a far greater choice of meeting times.
By using a combination of Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Classroom, and a reliable video meeting platform, I am able to I work with students from all over the United States.
Tutoring Rates
The hourly rate for online tutoring is calculated based only on the live online time that the student and I actually spend together. I do not charge any additional fees for texting, emailing, editing writing assignments, and providing books and other study materials.
