Tutoring Locations
I currently meet students in the study rooms at Cook Memorial Public Library or, for older students, at my home. If you are a student who lives in the Libertyville area and prefers meeting in person, please contact me so we can discuss meeting location options.
Since COVID, I have transitioned away from library meetings to online tutoring. Most of my students and parents have come to prefer the convenience of online tutoring. I am also better able to schedule students and offer a far greater choice of meeting times.
Benefits of Online Tutoring
Zoom can be an effective solution for students who cannot meet with me in person or need more scheduling flexibility. By using a combination of Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Classroom, and a reliable video meeting platform, I am able to I work with students from all over the United States.
Most of the college students I work with use online tutoring for help with essays and term papers. Online tutoring can also be effective for SAT and ACT prep. As a general rule, most students perform better in a face-to-face environment. Nonetheless, online instruction can be a suitable alternative if meeting in person is simply not possible.
The hourly rate for online tutoring is calculated based only on the live online time that the student and I actually spend together. I do not charge any additional fees for texting, emailing, editing writing assignments, and providing books and other study materials.
